Hey everyone! Welcome to What Emory Says. I'm Emory, a freshman in high school, and this blog is my outlet for everything I'm thinking about right now. I'm not writing about a specific topic, but some things I'm interested in include sports (mainly baseball and college basketball and football), science, classic rock music, jazz and classical music, and the world around us. I started this blog out of boredom during the currently occurring COVID-19 outbreak, which found me in the middle of the school year. I've always been criticized for my love of school and learning. I like to think I'at least a little bit smart, and going to school was always appealing to me. It was a place I could go to spend time with my friends, ask questions that demand complicated answers, and spend time in a place I enjoyed being. Then, one morning, it just shut down. My father woke me up early to inform me of the shutdown now in place across my county. The situation has not improved over the last few weeks, and I doubt it will anytime soon. All of this means that I will likely be stuck at my home for the foreseeable future, giving me plenty of time to pursue any interests that don't involve leaving my house or interacting with groups of people. I hope what I have to say is semi-enlightening, and everyone that reads it learns a little something about whatever the heck I end up blogging about. Thanks for reading, and continue to check back for more posts!
